Splish, Splash

OMG, I was awake at 5 this morning and then I heard a splash.  My pond is just below my bedroom window.  At first, I didn't want to go take a look because I thought that it may be a helpless cat that fell into my pond.  I really was afraid to look.  I grabbed my glasses and took a peak.  It was a male and female Mallard Duck.  They were just swimming around in my pond.  I ran out and grabbed my camera, but only got one half way decent picture.  It was the dawn light.  I should have recorded them.  Then they hopped out of the pond and flew off.  Here is one picture that I took.

Can you see them?  The fish are still at the bottom and won't come up to feed.  Do Mallard Ducks eat fish?  I went on the internet and got mixed answers.  I'm sure if they eat them, that they would have stayed longer.

What a great way to wake up to on a Monday Morning.  How has your day started?

Hope you have a wonderful day.

Stampingly,

Diane

  1. We have a pair hanging around our park…it is that time of year for them–mating time they wont be eating much, and they don’t go for bigger fish, nice picture, you can see both.
